The Need

Many of kids would love to participate in organized sports, they are often prevented from doing so because of lack of funds for equipment, for coaches, even for a safe field, rink or diamond on which to play. Joining a community sports team becomes even more critical in communities where youth violence and gang membership are on the rise.

Participation in community sports provides healthy opportunities for tomorrow’s leaders to -

  • set and achieve goals
  • build character
  • develop self-confidence & leadership abilities
  • learn cooperative skills
  • build a strong sense of community

Sports activities and all of these attributes are essential for young people to survive and thrive in our highly competitive society.
